This Centre started as early as 1996 at our then Head Office on Prince Edward Road, providing gospel drug addiction treatment and rehabilitation services exclusively to female drug-dependent persons. From only two students initially, the Centre has developed into one with a capacity for 15 female students as of today.

SERVICES PROVIDED BY THIS CENTRE:

  1. FAITH-RELATED:
Students’ daily activities include Bible reading, worshipping, and praying, whereby they can deepen their relationships with God, and let God reshape and recreate their life.
  2. WORK-RELATED:
Every day, students are assigned to different groups with different tasks, including cooking, cleaning, and laundry, so as to foster in them a positive work attitude, enhance their self-management capability, and develop the ability to live both independently and as part of a team.
  3. LEARNING & VOCATIONAL SKILLS-RELATED:
Every day, students have the chance to take up different courses on interpersonal relationships & communication, personal growth, etc. Through such learning experiences, they will better understand themselves, become more confidence, and be more positive on life. In addition, there are classes taught by registered teachers on spoken English, Putonghua, and Chinese typing, to enhance students’ ability to find jobs, as well as classes on the following general education subjects: Chinese Language, English Language, Mathematics, and General Knowledge, which are good preparation for those interested in further education in mainstream schools in future.
For vocational skills, we have training courses on manicure, beautician, hairdressing, computer, cookery, etc. Besides cultivating a positive learning attitude in our students, we also ensure that they will each master a skill or two and be better prepared upon graduation whether they choose to resume working or take up courses offered by the Employees Retraining Board.
  4. RECREATION-RELATED:
The daily timetable for students is split among work, classes, and recreation. According to their own interests, students can choose among different activities including aerobics, piano playing, painting, etc, to build up some healthy hobbies and hence will have a better quality of life.
  5. EXTERNAL ACTIVITIES-RELATED:
We regularly bring students out for external activities, including visits to Hong Kong Museum of History and Disneyland, adventure training, etc. In the latter activity, besides demonstrating their analytical and physical potentials, students can build up team spirit, set specific common goals, and overcome challenges together. In the process, they become closer friends, and the quality of their life elevated to a higher level, which are effective ways to prepare our students for their return to society one day.
  6. FAMILY RECONCILIATION-RELATED
Every month, each student is allowed to be visited by her family members, as a platform for promoting mutual communication and improving the relationships between them.
  7. OVERSEAS SHORT TERM MISSIONS-RELATED
We also bring students to overseas Short Term Missions, during which they share in public their testimonies of how they have tripped and fallen at first and got saved eventually. This way students’ personal growth can be reinforced all the more.
